The ring is hallmarked with date letter M for the year 1887.
Unusually this bears a London assay mark signified by the leopards head. The majority of these band were assayed in Birmingham.
Queen Victoria’s bust implies the tax was paid on this item.
A lovely weighty example with great hallmarks.
