Ejay’s Story

I remember as a child traveling to antiques fairs with my father. I would hide under his stall meticulously copying hallmarks from my little pocket hallmark book, I loved drawing, little did i know though this would be the foundations of my career in antiques.

I attended college studying art and design, passing with distinction and winning numerous awards. After being persuaded to enroll on a graphic design course, I decided that working to a brief was not the reason I studied art. Using the knowledge obtained from my childhood, I applied for a small business grant and Ejay Antiques was born . After purchasing an old box of costume jewellery from a family friend, I set off to a very wet and windy antique market, here I offered to help a dealer unload and pack up their stock in exchange for the use of a corner of their stall. Nervously unpacking my purchases, I was swamped with dealers. Once the commotion had subsided, I looked down to an empty stall. I can still feel the Buzz, hustle and excitement, I was hooked and had found my passion which 17 years later is still as strong as ever.

Through numerous experiences, good and bad, I have built up the skills and knowledge to run a successful business. In 2020 I completed a Diamond Diploma Course becoming a DGA member of the Gemological Association of Great Britain. I continue to study alongside running the business and my latest online venture.
