Description
An exquisite late Victorian coiled snake brooch, modelled in silver and 15K gold.
To the Victorians, snakes held deep symbolism as representative of eternity and the cyclical nature of life, and they also symbolized everlasting love and fidelity.
This brooch is set with old mine cut diamond and turquoise with two small garnet eyes. It was made in about 1890.
