Description
Symbolic silver and enamel fringe necklace, likely German/Austrian and dating from the 1920s. The fringe necklace is composed of two enameled heads of Horus either side of interconnecting chain constructed of red enamel roundels suspending lotus flowers and the most delightful chains depicting phoenix’s, goats and cats.
After the discovery of king Tutankhamen’s tomb in 1922 there was a great fascination with all things Egyptian and such jewels were popularized.
